RX DENTAL Shiny
RX Dental Shiny is an posterior filling material for all cavity classes. It is a light-cured, resin-based dental restorative material. This system has enhanced color stability and is designed for use in the multi-shade layering technique.
This ensures:
A natural and highly aesthetic filling
Minimization of polymerization shrinkage
Shiny is used with a dentine-enamel bond and is available in syringes.
Indication for Use
Enamel layer for Class I, II, III, IV, V, VI restorations
Repairing veneers
Splinting & locking of periodontally involved teeth
Core build-up to replace missing tooth structure
Composite inlays
Facetting of discolored anterior teeth
Reconstruction of traumatically damaged anteriors
Composite & porcelain repairs
Diastema closures
Masking discolored pulpal floor at the base of a preparation (opaque shades)
Recommended Usage
Prior to preparation, clean the tooth and remove all residues with water spray. Perform the relative tooth shade selection. Use a rubber dam where possible.
Prepare the cavity according to adhesive dentistry principles. Roughen the base if needed.
Etch as required according to your preferred technique (e.g., total-etch or self-etch).
Apply bond primer (Robust).
Apply a thin lining of flowing composite (Gloss Flow) or composer as needed. Use a matrix for better adaptation.
Fill the cavity in the desired shade in layers of maximum 2 mm thickness. Light-cure each layer for 40 seconds.
Remove surplus material, contour, and fine shape with a thin diamond finisher and flexible discs of decreasing grain size. Finish with high-gloss polishing paste using polishing cups/discs.
Contraindications
Inability to achieve proper drainage or recommended application technique
Direct application on open pulp
Known allergies to any component of the material
Interaction
Avoid materials containing eugenol, moisture, or airborne oil, as they may prevent polymerization
Cationic mouth rinses, plaque revelators, or chlorhexidine may cause discoloration
